The 2018 Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference will be taking place in Fort Wayne, Indiana, August 22nd-25th.

The Grand Wayne Center is thrilled to partner with the Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center to host the FGS Conference. Fort Wayne is known for its affordability, accessibility, and gracious hospitality. This central destination is located within an easy day’s drive of nearly a third of the U.S. population.

The FGS Conference will shine in this gorgeous facility, which features carpeted and climate-controlled convention and meeting rooms, easy to navigate spaces, and comfortable seating areas. Everything is located centrally in one area so you will not have to go the length of several football fields to get from the sessions to the exhibits.

This conference will introduce new tracks and speakers, such as Scandinavian and United Kingdom, to the conference program. There will be several aspects of the conference dedicated to DNA for those exploring this new genealogical frontier. You will also have the opportunity to attend multiple sessions, evening programs, and keynotes!

While you are at the NGS Conference, stop by our booth to chat to one of the Genealogy Librarians from The Genealogy Center, get more information about the FGS Conference, and book your hotel. More information can be found on the FGS website.

The Grand Wayne and The Genealogy Center are located on adjunct blocks in downtown Fort Wayne at the center of more than 20 restaurants and pubs, as well as museums, arts venues, and attractions. In addition to the world’s second largest family history research center, Fort Wayne boasts nationally acclaimed features such as Parkview Field, the historic Embassy Theatre, a lush botanical conservatory, an acclaimed Children’s Zoo, and an expansive parks and trails system.
