Clayton Library Friends is the organization dedicated to increasing and aiding the resources of Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, a division of the Houston Public Library.

Clayton Library is recognized as one of the top genealogical libraries in the United States with both a national and international collection. The Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research is a division of the Houston Public Library, 5300 Caroline, 832-393-2600. Researchers work on tracing their roots from all areas of the United States as well as finding and following immigrant ancestors back to their home locations.

One of the three public libraries nationally chosen to take part in the Family Search Records Preservation Project, the library was also featured
in the Genealogy Roadshow program in 2015. They were also recently featured in Houstonia magazine HERE
