Clayton Library (Houston, Texas) Friends – Booth 322
Clayton Library Friends is a 30-year-old organization of volunteers dedicated to enriching the Clayton Library resources and facilities. The mission of the Clayton Library Friends is to enhance the library services of the Houston Public Library’s Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research by obtaining new resources for the library, organizing and directing fundraising projects, supporting the acquisition of research material, and upgrades to library facilities.
The Clayton Library is located in the museum district of Houston and is comprised of three historic buildings formerly the home of the Will Clayton family, and a new, larger research building dedicated in 1988. Named one of the top genealogical research libraries in the United States, Clayton Library offers a deep, robust, and far-reaching collection of books, periodicals, microfilm, maps, internet databases, and a large collection of private research materials donated by genealogists on families and regions of the United States and the world. As a Library Digitization partner with FamilySearch, the library continues to be on the forefront of providing excellent service to family history researchers.
A visit to Clayton Library is worth it!
