The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is excited to once again be an exhibitor at the NGS Conference. We enjoy attending the conference each year, learning about the newest trends in genealogy and sharing the work of DAR and our resources with other attendees. Founded in 1890, DAR is a lineage-based nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. DAR members volunteer millions of service hours annually in their local communities.

 
One of the most inclusive genealogical societies in the country, DAR boasts 185,000 members across the United States and internationally. Any woman 18 years or older regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background who can prove lineal descent from someone who contributed to the cause for independence during the American Revolutionary War, is eligible for membership.
DAR members across the country are passionate ambassadors for genealogical preservation and research, and the National Society is committed to being a premier provider of genealogical resources. DAR’s vast online databases, contained in our Genealogical Research System (GRS), provide many of the genealogical resources of the DAR Library for free online. The GRS continues to grow today as we add more resources to the databases. If you are unfamiliar with the GRS, stop by our DAR booth #409 and allow us to demonstrate its many features and resources.

 
DAR National Headquarters in Washington, D.C., houses one of the nation’s premier genealogical libraries, one of the foremost collections of pre-industrial American decorative arts and an extensive collection of early American manuscripts and imprints.
