Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865 – Booth #517

The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865 is a non-profit women’s volunteer organization whose members are descendants of honorably discharged soldiers and sailors who served in the Union Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Revenue Cutter during the Rebellion of 1861 – 1865, including all those who died or were killed while serving in the armed services of the Union between April 12, 1861 and April 9, 1865.

There are 19 department (or state) organizations with 92 tents and 13 independent tents (or chapters) in other states. The National Headquarters is located in Springfield, Illinois. They hold a National Convention (this year in Atlanta, Georgia), provide awards and scholarships, and maintain a free public Civil War museum.
