(also trading as Genealogical Publishing Co.) – Booth #706

April 17th, 2019 by National Genealogical Society Blog Editor (also trading as Genealogical Publishing Co.) – Booth #706 is America’s leading publisher of genealogy and family history how-to books, compiled genealogies and source records, and genealogy e-books. We have been in the genealogy publishing business since 1959.

Our collection of more than 100 how-to books and finding aids is second to none, as they are written by leading experts in the field and updated on a regular basis. These books cover all of the key issues of American genealogy, our largest ethnic groups, and listings of the major genealogical institutions. Our textbook, The Researcher’s Guide to American Genealogy, by Val Greenwood, now in its 4th edition, is the most honored book in the field. The collection of laminated research aids, “Genealogy at a Glance,” now numbers 40 titles and provides quick and trenchant introductions to their topics.

The majority of our titles (close to 2,000) contain compiled genealogies and source records that pertain mostly to the states east of the Mississippi River. With a few exceptions, the majority of these source books refer to families whose origins in the United States date from before the Civil War.

In short, for researchers looking for expert guidance in their research, or possessing antebellum origins in this country, should be their first place to stop. Facebook Page:
