Summer Camp for Genealogists is fun and educational, especially when shared with friends! Visit us in the booth to see photos of past GRIP experiences. Be the first to learn about the 2020 courses which will be announced at the NGS conference!

BRIEF BIO: Co-Directors Deborah Lichtner Deal and Elissa Scalise Powell, CG, CGL, started GRIP in 2012 with four courses. The need for genealogical education in a relaxed, social, and friendly atmosphere has grown GRIP to the 17 courses being offered this summer. Debbie is a member of the Ohio Genealogical Society (OGS) Board of Trustees and served as the chairperson of the OGS week-long Summer Workshop; was the 2010 Exhibits Chair for the annual OGS conference and the co-chair of the 2014 OGS conference. Elissa is a past-president of the Board for Certification of Genealogists; is the coordinator for the “Genealogy as a Profession” course at IGHR; was an instructor and creator of part of the BU Genealogy Research Certificate program; was the mentor for ProGen Study groups 1 and 25; and received APG’s Professional Achievement Award in 2017.
