Holiday Gifts for Genealogists

December 9th, 2017 by National Genealogical Society Blog Editor

Has your spouse or adult children asked you what you’d like for a holiday gift this year? You might suggest registration for the NGS 2018 Family History Conference. If you have already registered, they can treat you to the Western Michigan Genealogical Society host event at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum on Thursday, 3 May 2018 or the NGS Banquet on Friday, 4 May 2018.

If you are unable to attend the NGS 2018 Family History Conference in Grand Rapids, you have many publication and education course selections available at ngsgenealogy.org (link to the store). Selections include recorded sessions from previous conferences, Mastering Genealogical Proof or Mastering Genealogical Documentation by Thomas W. Jones, PhD, CG, CGL, FASG, FUGA, FNGS, several courses in the Continuing Genealogical Studies Series, and many selections in the Research in the States Series. If you are interested in DNA, Genetic Genealogy in Practice, by Blaine T. Bettinger, PhD, JD, and Debbie Parker Wayne, will answer many of your DNA questions.

There has never been a better time to be a genealogist, and the holidays are the perfect time to ensure that your gift list includes events, education, or publications to help you advance your family history research. Happy Holidays!
