The North Carolina Genealogical Society is proud to be the Local Host Society of the National Genealogical Society’s 2017 Family History Conference, Family History Lives Here. Conference committee chairs and board members alike look forward to welcoming you personally upon your arrival in beautiful Raleigh in just a few short weeks!

Founded in 1974, the North Carolina Genealogical Society began publishing its award-winning quarterly journal in 1975. Copies of all back issues are available digitally online as a member benefit, offering research tools and educational articles not found elsewhere. A newly revised CD-ROM will be available in May, North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal (1975-2016), allowing the convenience of word-searching all issues by name or subject.

Since 2011, NCGS has offered webinar instruction, which has included a free viewing period for members and nonmembers. Recordings of these webinars and the accompanying handouts are currently available for viewing through the members-only section of the society website. Each hour-long webinar is also available for purchase on DVD through the society store. Webinar DVDs also include the handout. To learn more, visit the Webinars page on our website.

Individual membership is currently priced at just $40 a year and includes the additional benefit of discounts to society workshops and store items as well as access to other member-only website content. Please stop by NCGS Booth #100 in the Exhibit Hall during the conference and purchase a new or renewal membership, or sign up to receive our free exceptional bi-monthly newsletter, the NCGS News. You may also visit our website to learn more about the benefits of membership or to join NCGS.

During your stay in the Raleigh area, please don’t hesitate to stop anyone wearing an “Ask Me About North Carolina” button for suggestions on restaurants, local events, or places of interest. You will be sure to enjoy first hand why North Carolina stands for “Nothing Compares!
