A national society dedicated to researching German-speaking ancestry from any area and time period. This includes any region of Germany and other countries that were at one time a part of Germany. Membership provides access to databases in a members only section of our website at www.palam.org. Members also receive a quarterly e-newsletter and a quarterly printed journal. Our society has six state chapters (CO, IN, NY, NC, OH, and PA) which generally have their own spring and fall meetings and also publish a chapter newsletter.
We hold a national conference at which members receive discounted registration. This conference is currently being held in even-numbered years as we partner with the International German Genealogy Partnership (IGGP) to support those conferences in odd-numbered years. The 2018 national conference will be held in Buffalo, New York, 13-16 June, with featured speakers John Philip Colletta and Baerbel Johnson. There will also be a Basics of German Genealogy pre-conference workshop conducted by Baerbel Johnson. See our website for further conference and registration information. Early-bird registration ends on May 22.
Please stop by Booth 406 to discuss your German-speaking ancestry. Our booth will be staffed between most sessions and during lunches.
