Daniel Jones, MS (History, Early Modern Europe), AG, is an Accredited Genealogist specializing in Swiss, German, and Austrian research. After graduating magna cum laude from Brigham Young University, Daniel worked professionally for over a dozen years in helping several high-profile clients with research all over Europe. He has extensive research experience in numerous archives, cumulatively spending more than a year researching on-site across more than a dozen countries in Europe, North America, Africa, and Australia.

Daniel has taught German research courses for the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP), the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG), and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR). He has also lectured at national conferences, including RootsTech, the International German Genealogy Partnership (IGGP), the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS), the Palatines to America (PalAm) national conference, and the Foundation for East European Family History Studies (FEEFHS).

Daniel is known for his extensive historical and genealogical knowledge in Swiss and German sources. He has authored thousands of research pages for the FamilySearch Research Wiki, making genealogical resources much more accessible to other researchers. Fluent in English, German, and Dutch, he has also taken language courses in Russian, French, and Hebrew. He currently manages the Germanic and Slavic research specialist teams at the FamilySearch Library.
