Katherine R. Willson of Dexter, Michigan, discovered her passion for genealogy at just eight years old as a Junior Girl Scout and has been researching ever since. Today, she is a dynamic and engaging presenter at regional, national, and international events, and has held leadership roles in local, national, and professional genealogical organizations.

Katherine serves as a course coordinator and instructor for the National Genealogical Society’s Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. She is also a full-time professional researcher, specializing in Michigan’s pre-statehood settlers, Midwestern families who migrated west during the 18th and 19th centuries, and European immigrants arriving in America in the 19th and 20th centuries.
