Matt Weismantel, MA

With over 30 years of professional experience in higher education administration, Matt Weismantel has a proven record of designing and leading educational programs, training sessions, and workshops, especially those focused on organizational management and development. Matt holds a B.A. and M.A. in Historical Geography. At Rutgers University, he oversaw major institutional initiatives and was recognized for his expertise in translating complex concepts into effective operations, strategic planning, and improving organizational quality. Since retiring from Rutgers, Matt has become an active leader in the genealogical community, currently serving as Chair of the National Genealogical Society’s Delegate Council. He led the Organizational Excellence Recognition Task Force, instrumental in developing principles and best practices for genealogical organizations. He has also designed and presented a two-day strategic planning workshop for genealogical societies. Matt also volunteers with the National Park Service at Ellis Island’s American Family Immigration History Center and Research Library and with other local organizations.
